Facebook Games – No Longer Just For Your Browser

Facebook is an incredible social networking site. It has developed from a small community that a few college students used into something that students all over the country used. From there, it developed even further, now to the point where almost every single person has a facebook account, even if only to look at pictures of their grandkids.

Facebook apps were originally nothing more than a collection of surveys and quizzes, but a few developers saw the potential in interactive programs that were automatically shared like viral marketing on the world’s most popular social networking site. They started making games. The games were originally quite rudimentary, with poor graphics and uninteresting mechanics, but quickly developed into incredibly popular games such as Mafia and Farmville. Their addictive appeal led them to spreading widely, to the point that more people play these simple games than those developed by big-name computer game companies.

Now they’re getting even more popular, to the point where facebook games aren’t only played on facebook anymore. Now you can actually play them on your iPad. Facebook games on ipad used to need to be activated through an actual browser logged into facebook itself, using multiple middle-men through a less-than-ideal medium. Now that they’re developing facebook games directly for the tablet, people can play facebook games at all times — not just when they’re on Facebook.

What games can be found on Facebook? There are literally dozens and dozens of games to be found there. Like the idea of pretending to farm while not even leaving your living room? Try Farmville. Would you prefer to farm zombies instead of crops? There’s a game fashioned on that very premise. For those among us obsessed with words, there’s always Words With Friends, a Facebook version of Scrabble that Facebook users can play with their friends.

Games have become more and more convenient over time. It used to be that games were played on a Super Nintendo that you had to plug into your television. Sometimes the game wouldn’t work, and you’d have to turn everything off and blow any dust or other particles off of the bottom of the game in the hopes that that would make it work. The graphics of games used to be absolutely abysmal, made up of dozens of little squares.

Now the graphics of even the cheapest-made games, these Facebook games, are significantly better-looking and smoother than their predecessors. And now you can play them from the convenience of your portable tablet, instead of doing it within the window of a social website.

Playing facebook games on ipad on a portable device allows you to play these addictive games at all times of day. This is valuable for those who find themselves spending a significant amount of time each day on their commute, on the subway, rail, or bus systems. Or perhaps parents who are waiting during a soccer practice or tutor session. Facebook games on ipad bring the games to the player wherever they are in the most convenient way possible.

Karl Pilkington Facebook game?

I had an idea recently for the new game. I don’t think this could be the best game in the world but I just really like I lantern. Can you imagine a game where Karl Pilkington is doing his rock busters game from the radio show. But it is factual clips from the radio. Maybe this is actually a crap game but I dislike of Pilkington not much I think him plus a Facebook game is complete genius.

There’s actually a little game on the Internet of him on his seven wonders of the world. Also known as an idiot abroad. He strakes from left to right and have to catch objects while the background is in one of the seven wonders. If you drop one of your 30 makes a silly comment. Exactly quite funny and at the end of each round mission comes in and lots of them.

Does anyone else think that Karl Pilkington in a Facebook game would be absolute genius?

why I love Miscrits

I think Miscrits is a brilliant game, it can be quite expensive spending Facebook credits on but it’s actually one of the best Facebook games are played.

One of the things that really bugs me in the beginning though, was that I really didn’t understand what made a good Miscrit and that really proved a problem because you only get a few training points each level.

Am I going to try and help you with that if you have the same problem.

The best way to find out what is a good Miscrits to follow a few rules. A rare Miscrit will always be better. Well, actually usually it will be better not always. You can use the Miscripedia to find out which Miscrits are strong and which are not. Usually says on the page are weak or strong max and this correlates to how many stats it will gain each level.

Always make sure that your Miscrit has good defences. Good defences are the basis for any Miscrit you need to build to take some damage. It’s not worth having a great attack initiatives Gallagher destroyed in one hit. So I was try to make sure we have good physical defences and good elemental defences.

You also only need one good stat for attack. If you have to moderate attacks then you’re not really doing any more damage you may have a little more ability when it comes to exposing the weakness of another Miscrit but really if you have one major attack them that was actually be much better. Also usually if you have one good attack on but attack it means that the stats from the bad attack have actually been moved into another stat. So if you have good elemental attack and bad physical attack this might actually translate into having a really good HP, speed or defences.

Hope this helps, I play a lot of Facebook games and these kinds of things can only sometimes when you don’t understand.

Empires and allies all it is cracked up to be?

I’ve been mulling over this one for quite some time. Is empires and allies all it’s cracked up to be, because it is made by Zynga this game is supposed to be the dogs bollocks. But is it really? I don’t think so. To me it seems more of the same. Okay, maybe they have been a little more innovative with the opening movie and the action scenes but really is this any different? Don’t answer that question it was answering rhetorical.

When you think Zynga you think of the same thing, daily tasks, harvesting buildings farms or some other random clickable item. This is definitely the same as empires and allies is. Okay, so maybe we graphics and animations of a lot better, but the gameplay is pretty much the same as every other game they’ve made. How they managed to stay on top I really do not know, it actually annoys me. This blog post is now turning into a rant and a little before Zynga can’t make a decent game.

How can I say that? Easy, Zynga makes games purposely to make you feel like an obedient little puppy. You have to ask is yourself, are you really playing Zynga games for fun? Or is it simply because you are enticed into playing the game and now are stuck in a routine of harvesting and planting each day in competition with your neighbours. The trick to Zynga games is that they make their games social community projects and force you into a habit of checking your farm, map, neighbourhood or town every time you login to Facebook.

I think that it, rant over!

The rise of the best Facebook games

Facebook games and games developers now like an institution to society. No one could have predicted the rise of Facebook games in the way that it has happened. Studies show that one of the main reasons people use Facebook so much now is because of the vast amount of Facebook games which people are addicted to. So it is not hard to see that the best Facebook games are those which employee daily tasks and mundane routine tactics to keep users hooked and addicted.

Some of the best Facebook games which do this are:

Farmville

Farmville is the undisputed champion of Facebook games, it has managed to accrue millions upon millions of users and has them hooked on the daily routine of planting and farming crops. I wouldn’t actually say Farmville is any more fun than any other game, but it is the addictiveness of the daily tasks which may seem mundane and boarding but are actually proven to keep users addicted. In some ways it is even hard to call them the game is more like a dog training regime.

However I do enjoy Facebook games and I refuse hundreds of them over the past two years. Sometimes, there’s nothing like a good simple Facebook game to destress and wind down. I for one actually do really enjoy Facebook games, but I do detest daily tasks and repetitiveness.

Miscrits

Miscrits is one of the new generation of Facebook games, while there are some daily tasks and mundane waiting involved, they are more focused on the user enjoying themselves. In Miscrits your tasks to go about and capture pocket monsters which you can use to battle the battle arena. There are many ways to capture Miscrits most of them in the wild way must battle until their health as well and then capture them in your Miscrit PDA book. It is a fantastic little game and I really enjoy it. However the ultimate goal of these companies is to make money from their users and Miscrits definitely does this. It is highly overpriced and in a sense users can buy success. It is tantamount to cheating in my book, but developers do have to make money somewhat way.

Backyard monsters

Backyard monsters is also a fantastic Facebook game which is push the boundaries and really trying to give a sense of enjoyment to the users rather than keep them hooked on the game. You still can buy things with Facebook credits in backyard monsters, but it is not as focused on this it seems to be more focused on the user’s experience and enjoyment. Which is why so many people play at such a long time.

Conclusion

There are many Facebook games out there are thousands in fact, getting to know each one why they succeed and the game developers purpose with Facebook game is an interesting role to examine. Facebook games certainly the future of gaming and rival many of game development is. Facebook games also offers the opportunity for smaller developers to take their ideas and some game developers can be millionaires overnight in this field. Maybe this is why we get such a different range of games.
